Throughout the semester you will be asked to email me, to write me, or to meet with me to discuss and justify your grade and your progress in this class.
It is up to you to keep track of all your assignments, email, and correspondence that relate to this class. You can do this by creating your own grading sheet or by making notes on your Class Outline. (A sample grading sheet is included in your handbook.) Grading in this class, for the most part, is subjective, but you should know what your "grade" is at all times.
NOTE: If you prefer to be graded objectively (tests on specific subject knowledge, specific criteria for all assignments, points or specific letter grades for all projects) please let me know the first or second day of class and we will work out a way to do this.
You begin this class with an "A." You don't have to earn any points to get it. You already have it.
You keep this "A" by your effort and by doing your best at all times.
You keep this "A" by being an eager, active learner.
You keep your "A" by pushing yourself to do better and to improve beyond what you "already" know. (All students will enter this class at different levels. That is OK. You don't have to become better than your classmate in order to keep your "A," as long as you are always improving. There is however, a minimum level of mastery that you must achieve in all the applications you will study in this class.)
You keep this "A" by attending class.
You keep this "A" by being an active participant in this class.
You keep this "A" by pushing yourself to learn something new every day.
You keep this "A" by being an explorer.
You keep this "A" by letting me know when you are having problems in the course and by working with me to help you solve those problems.
You keep this "A" by preparing and presenting your materials in a professional manner.
You keep this "A" by being creative and coming up with good ways to incorporate technology into your lessons.
You keep this "A" by understanding how each assignment you do can benefit your students once you start teaching.
You keep this "A" by doing all assignments....on time.
You keep this "A" by listening in class and by following directions.
You keep this "A" by taking part in all email learning games, and by responding to email inquiries.
You keep this "A" by sharing
the knowledge and skills you have in specific technology applications with
me and with the rest of the class.
